Forks Masacre Pt. One

Ok ok ok, in a PUBLIC post on my lj, I'll give you part ONE of FORKS MASACRE.

Thank you Steph for editing this for me! You are amazing!

You guys can ignore this post if you want. Sorry for spamming the flists XD.

The tables were set. The silver wear and crystal were sparkling under the chandeliers of the big mansion she would soon be calling home. It was supposed to be a perfect day, the day she would remember for the rest of her existence, not life, we all knew that after today life as she knew it would stop, nothing would ever be the same again.

I kept pacing back and forth in the living room of our small house on the reservation, all dressed up and not sure yet if I had somewhere to go. The invitation had come months ago, and I had refused to even open it; still holding on to hope that she would see things my way, that she would come to her senses. But that day, well, it was clear that her mind had been made up, and I had to accept that fact, she would never be mine. No matter what I did, the question now was, would I be strong enough to go and watch her departure?

A thunderstorm had taken Forks by surprise that day, well, not really surprising, it was that time of year; then again, around here it was ALWAYS that time of year. The morning had dawned gray and over cast, I could hear the waves crashing violently, protesting the excess water that had accumulated during the night. I couldn't help but be slightly happy about this, who could blame me, I was bitter, she wouldn't have her garden wedding, not by the looks of the sky and the ominous thunder. If I decided to show up, it would be much easier without the wind sending whiffs of that horrible vampiric smell towards me.

The morning wore on faster than I had wanted it to and it was soon afternoon, the church ceremony was going on by this time, I had decided to skip that, I knew she'd hate me forever, but who were we kidding? After this there WAS no forever, not for me and her anyway, she'd leave, I'd stay. Any and all animosity would soon be forgotten. Feelings were easily replaced, for some people at least.

I decided to go into town about half an hour into the proceedings, I wanted to just drive around, try to get out all my frustration. I might have been bitter, but I didn't want to ruin her day by snapping and punching her new husband half way through dinner. I checked myself in the mirror again, feeling stuffy and out of place in the new suit, having out grown the only one I had in a matter of months. I seemed to be outgrowing a lot of things lately. I ran my fingers through my hair one last time and left.

I made it to town just as the drizzling rain started. The town seemed deserted, wasn't really surprising, it wasn’t every day the daughter of the police chief got married, and in a town this small, well, it was a huge occasion and her new family had made a big deal of it, inviting everyone, even those that had always shunned them. The towns curious bystanders had no doubt flocked to the church, and would no doubt be flocking to the reception later. It made me laugh; the biggest party Forks had ever seen and not one of them had a clue about what was REALLY going on, they would be fleeing in horror if they only knew the types of monsters that indeed dwelled in the dark here.

I was just passing the WELCOME TO FORKS sign when I saw it. At first I thought maybe the ceremony was over, but it made no sense, all these people walking down the street in a huge flock. Why would they be walking? the house was several miles away and the sky threatened to open up and drown us all at any minute. What was more, everyone was dressed in dark colors, and they looked so pale I almost thought I'd crashed my car and had landed in the land of spirits. As quietly as I could I swerved off to the side of the road and parked behind a clump of bushes. The gathering, group, hoard, flock, whatever it was, didn't even seem to notice me, they just kept walking, a vacant look in their eyes, their sparkling almost ruby like eyes. It couldn't be, could it? They wouldn't invite THEM to the wedding, not with so many innocents around, would they? It made no sense, a family of vampires that didn't feed off humans, inviting human eaters to an important gathering.

One of them caught the scent of something in the air, he sniffed at it, the look on his face, I could almost hear him salivating. His head turned in the direction of my hiding spot and he nudged the girl next to him, there was something definitely wrong with all this. I revved the engine and peeled out, leaving them startled and staring. Thunder sounded in the background, at least I thought it was thunder but a quick check in the rearview gave me the most startling scene I had witnessed to this day. Thirty, if not more, vampires, eyes hungry, running almost faster than my car could go, and all headed straight for me.

I thanked god for the suped up engine I had installed, and for my mechanical skills. It was the only thing that just MIGHT get me out of this mess, if I couldn't outdrive them, I was going to have to out run them. I didn't like the odds of that; I was too outnumbered to even try to think of that. I made a beeline for the church, praying they had vacated it, I think god heard my prayer wrong, as I turned the corner and came closer, the sight there was enough to give a weaker man a heart attack if not two, the white washed walls of the old structure, stained in crimson, it would have made a beautiful contrast, if I hadn't of known what the red was.
